On November 22-25, POLEKO’ 2011 International Trade Fair of Environmental Protection was held once again in Poznań.
This year's POLEKO and KOMTECHNIKA occupied a total
area of about 17.000 m2, gathered 700 exhibitors and companies from 19
countries: Austria, Belgium, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland,
France, Spain, Holland, Canada, Germany, Norway, Poland, Switzerland,
Sweden, Ukraine, Great Britain, Italy and the USA.
Leading topic of this year's fair is "Resource Efficiency - efficient use of resources".
The 10th meeting of the Ionizing Radiation and Polymers symposium, IRaP’2012 will be held 14th-19th October, 2012, in Cracow, Poland. IRAP’2012 is organized jointly by the Institute of Nuclear Chemistry and Technology, Radiation Research Foundation and Institute of Applied Radiation Chemistry (Łódź).
The IRaP'2012 meeting will provide an excellent
opportunity to meet and discuss the developments both in the basic
science in the field of radiation chemistry and physics of polymeric
systems and in the area of applications of ionizing radiation in polymer
chemistry and physics, new trends and ideas in radiation processing of
polymers, emerging technologies and products. These topics will be
addressed by international experts from academia and industry.
An International Coordination Meeting on Radiation
Engineered Nanostructures organized within the framework of regional
programme RER/8/014 – Supporting Radiation Synthesis and the
Characterization of Nanomaterials for Health Care, Environmental
Protection and Clean Energy applications was held in Warszawa, Poland
in the period 16-18 November 2011. It was coordinated by the
International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna. The Institute of
Nuclear Chemistry and Technology (INCT) in Warszawa was obliged to
organize this meeting for the participants of the above programme.
The ART foundation was author and organizer of the project.
The program is co-funded by the Capital City of Warsaw – the Office of Education.
Partners: The Institute of Nuclear Chemistry and Technology, The Polish
Chemical Society and The Museum of Maria Skłodowska - Curie.
As a partner the INCT gave substantive and technical support in project
implementation, which was created to celebrate the year of Maria
Skłodowska- Curie.
Warsaw, September / October 2011-At this time the
project named „Following the steps of Maria Skłodowska Curie” took place
on the streets of Warsaw. The project was destined to the children from
classes IV – VI of the primary schools and its main purpose was to
encourage children to independence in searching of information and
knowledge...
The Institute of Nuclear Chemistry and Technology
(INCT) operates and maintains the only radiation facility in the
country. The said facility is equipped with an accelerator Electronika
1010. This facility is certified in designing and performing radiation
processing of medical devices in compliance with PN-EN ISO 13485:2005
standard. Currently, it serves more than 50 companies. Most of which are
manufactures of medical, pharmaceutical and cosmetics products.
On September 11-14th, in Krakow, the international
conference NUTECH-2011(Recent Development and Applications of Nuclear
Technologies) was held. The conference was organized by Faculty of
Physics and Applied Computer Science, AGH University of Science and
Technology, with cooperation of Institute of Nuclear Chemistry an
Technology, Polish Energy Group Nuclear Energy, S.A. (PGE, Energia
Jądrowa), Polish Nuclear Society (PTN), International Atomic Energy
Agency, National Atomic Agency (PAA), European Nuclear Society and
Municipality of Krakow. The meeting was a continuation of the former
scientific symposia under the cycle “Application of nuclear
technologies in industry, medicine, agriculture and environment
protection”...
The 54th Annual Meeting of the Polish Chemical Society
(PTChem) and the Association of Engineers and Technicians of Chemical
Industry (SITPChem), organized by the team of the Maria Curie-Sklodowska
University, was held in Lublin, Poland, on September 18-22, 2011. Over
700 delegates from Poland and abroad participated in the Meeting. The
conference was particularly ceremonial, as it took place in the
centenary of the second Nobel Prize for Maria Skłodowska-Curie – in the
International Year of Chemistry and the Year of Maria Skłodowska-Curie
established by the Upper House of the Parliament of Poland – and
moreover at the University by her name.
Brussels -
October 5, 2011 - A solemn opening of an exhibition entitled “Maria
Skłodowska-Curie in the Service of Science Yesterday and Today” took
place yesterday evening at the European Parliament headquarters.
This year XV Festival of Science was held from 16th to
25th September in Warsaw. Institute of Nuclear Chemistry and Technology
prepared the demonstrations for participants at The Museum of Maria
Skłodowska-Curie, 16 Freta Street. People of all ages were very
interested in our exhibition. Participants were familiarized with
ionizing radiation, methods of protection against this radiation and
where we can find radiation naturally in environment. The youngest build
the nuclear power plant with salt-mass. They were also familiarized
with principle of operation of nuclear power plant. Additionally, they
could take part in the game “Searching of the treasure”, which was the
watch with 'radium' hands...
We deeply regret to inform you that Professor A.M.
Dancewicz DSc, former head of the Radiation Biochemistry Laboratory at
the Department of Radiobiology and Health Protection of the Institute of
Nuclear Research (later transformed into Institute of Nuclear Chemistry
and Technology), passed away on September 21st 2011 at the age of 89. Professor Dancewicz was the Honorary Member of the Institute's Scientific Council
