Accolades to the organisers of
the 27th World Conference of the INTDS

organised by
RIKEN NishinaCenter for Accelerator-Based Science (RNC)
which took place
August 31 - September 5, 2014
at National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan), located in Tokyo Bay area, Odaiba

Thanks to effort of Hiroki Okuno and his colleagues from RIKEN (for more please have a look at, for which all participants of the meeting are very grateful, we had the great opportunity to learn about many new concepts not only on target production but as well on solving the problems related to the technical aspects of the target station. The number of interesting presentations submitted to the organisers implicated organisation of the parallel sessions.

Nevertheless the crowdy scientific programme, the organisers made possible the visit to the RIKEN laboratories and to the old Kanda-myoujin shrine as well as to the Tokyo Skytree tower, what was very much appreciated by all participants.

Traditionally, at the conference banquet this time organised as a cruise around the Tokyo Bay, the Society's Award of recognition for service to the Society and/or development of the target preparation technique was handed, unfortunately in absentia, to David M. Gilliam from National Institute of Standards and Technology, USA (INTDS award-2014) (ASt)
